Disney Cruise Line has announced its summer 2022 deployment schedule, and it includes voyages to new destinations and favorite ports in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, northern Europe, and Greek Isles.
“While we prepare for a return to sea just as soon as the time is right, we continue to look to the future and develop more cruising options for families,” said Thomas Mazloum, president of Disney Cruise Line. “Offering this diverse new line-up of itineraries for the summer of 2022 shows our commitment to taking more guests to more destinations around the world as we plan for additional ships in the years ahead.”
In summer 2022, a new collection of destinations will be part of Disney Magic‘s tour of Europe, which will begin with sailings through the Greek Isles and Mediterranean. Following that, the vessel will head north for cruises to the Baltic, British Isles, Iceland, and the Norwegian fjords.
Five new ports of call in Europe include Chania, Greece; Porto, Portugal; Riga, Latvia; Maloy, Norway; and Nynashamn, Sweden.
From Rome, eight, nine, and 12-night cruises to Greece will stop at destinations including Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos. A nine-night sailing will mark Disney Cruise Line’s first call to Chania, Greece on the island of Crete — known for its Venetian and Florentine influences.
Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona will visit cities such as Rome and Naples, as well as French Riviera towns like Villefranche and Cannes. During a seven-night voyage from Barcelona to Dover, England, the cruise line will make its first-ever visit to Porto, Portugal.
Disney Wonder will return to Alaska in 2022, departing from Vancouver, Canada on seven-night itineraries. Visits will include Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Dawes Glacier. Two of the voyages will call on Icy Strait Point in place of Skagway.
First-Ever Summer Cruises From Miami
For the first time ever, families can sail from Miami during the summer season on Disney Cruise Line.
Every voyage in summer 2022 from Miami will include a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. The June 7 voyage will mark Disney Dream‘s inaugural cruise from Miami, as the ship previously has only homeported in Port Canaveral.
In addition to Castaway Cay, three and four-night cruises will call on Nassau, Bahamas. Five-night voyages will include a stop at either Grand Cayman or Cozumel. One special five-night cruise will include two stops at Castaway Cay, along with a call on Nassau.
Sailings From Port Canaveral
Caribbean and Bahamas cruises aboard Disney Fantasy will continue from Port Canaveral in summer 2022.
The ship will embark on both eastern and western Caribbean cruises throughout the season, including seven-night voyages, a special five-night sailing, and an extended nine-night cruise. The nine-night sailing will feature a first-time call to Roseau, Dominica.
Every Disney Fantasy voyage will include a stop at Castaway Cay.
In summer 2022, travelers can extend their vacation in Europe with a pre-cruise escape in select cities from Adventures by Disney. It offers pre-cruise guided trips in Rome, London, Barcelona, and Copenhagen.
These two to three-night escapes feature fun experiences in iconic cities, such as a private, after-hours visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel in Rome, as well as activities like flamenco dancing, mosaic making, and preparing local cuisine.
Bookings for the summer 2022 cruises as well as the Adventures by Disney cruise extension trips open to the public on March 25, 2021.
Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, Disney Wish, is set to debut in summer 2022. Information on its itineraries will be released at a later date.
