Following a 38-day dry dock in Cadiz, Spain, Victory will re-emerge as Carnival Radiance on April 26, 2020. Though itineraries will not be announced or go on sale until this November, interested cruisers can register to receive a “first to know” alert for a special promotional offer as soon as itineraries are open for sale. With her new bars, restaurants, public spaces, open-deck attractions, and more, she will become a sister ship to Carnival Sunshine and the soon-to-be-transformed Carnival Sunrise.
What’s Being Added
The most enticing news is that “a surprise new dining option” will make its debut on Radiance, leaving a lot to the culinary imagination. It will join known Carnival favorites like the Italian restaurant Cucina del Capitano and a full-service Bonsai Sushi restaurant in being added to the ship. Also, fans of Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse will be able to enjoy the popular barbecue menu. For its finer dining options, Radiance will feature a Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse as well as the Chef’s Table experience, which will be hosted inside a special glass-enclosed venue – just like what’s planned for Sunrise.
The refurbishment additions extend far beyond dining, too. Like her sister Sunrise, Radiance is packing on the entertainment by adding a RedFrog Pub and Piano Bar 88 (featuring themed nights and classic sing-alongs) into its deck plans. Other spaces added during the bow-to-stern makeover will be a Limelight Lounge (to double as the Punchliner Comedy Club and as a nightclub) and a multi-purpose Liquid Lounge, which will host events like Playlist Production shows or Hasbro: The Game Show.
On the lido deck, the fun continues with the addition of the Sports Square, which includes a ropes course with stunning views of the sea 150 ft below. In the new WaterWorks park, guests can cool off under the 75-gallon PowerDrencher bucket or take a ride down one of two 200+ ft slides.
If you’re looking for relaxation, Carnival Radiance will have it. Outside, a Serenity Adults-Only Retreat will be created to offer an oasis within an oasis and stunning sea views. Inside, a complete Cloud 9 Spa will include a thermal suite, private treatment rooms, and workout equipment for the ultimate haven of health and wellness.
The ship will also get a brand new complimentary chicken restaurant that will serve breakfast and lunch.
What’s Not Changing
Throughout the extensive dry dock, Carnival Radiance will retain many of the refurbishments she received earlier this year, including Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, BlueIguana Tequila Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar, Alchemy Bar, and the Cherry On Top sweets shop. Accommodations had also received upgrades, such as additional stateroom categories and a new tropical color palette decor.
